Our readers want to get to know you, tell us who you are and the things you enjoy most.
I am from Montana and came to CO because my husband is from Greeley. We have lived here together since 2008. We have two boys and are expecting another bundle of joy in November. I teach 1st grade at Platte Valley in Kersey, CO. My husband is the Rec Director for the Town of Kersey. We are involved in our church, Generations, in Greeley, and in our community in Kersey. We are a big sports family due to my husband’s job and having two boys, but our main sport we love is baseball. I played softball growing up and was a dancer into my adulthood. So, we try to stay active as much as possible. We love the outdoors too and often make our way up to Estes Park to get away.
What do you you and your family enjoy doing outdoors?
Like I mentioned before, we love the mountains. I grew up backpacking in the MT mountains, going to our cabin and camping and fishing with my family. We love to vacation in Estes Park, but really love going camping anywhere. We also love meeting up with my family anywhere in CO, WY or MT. Anywhere there is mountains, rivers or lakes, or things to do outdoors, we are there!!
What has motherhood taught you?
What has the quarantine taught you?
I’ve learned in this quarantine to be flexible and give people grace. The dog eat dog world we lived in before wasn’t going to fly during these trying times, especially for my students and their families. Learning to be patient with others, including my own family has been a challenge, but this time with them has allowed me to see the need for calm and grace when life gets hard.
What is your favorite book to read and why?
I love all kinds of books. I’m really into the Bakeshop Mystery series by Ellie Alexander. It’s like a mix between Gilmore Girls and Crime Shows; two of my favorite shows.
