Our readers want to get to know you first, tell us about YOU what is your story?
Hi, I am Charity aka #GritGirlBoss. I am the Founder of Grit Too Glory INC. I reside in Florida with my husband Dan and our two daughters Rebecca and Addison.
In my 20’s I was a young mom at rock bottom homeless and walking to my retail job. I like to say I have earned a PHD in turning set backs into come backs.
I was desperate for change so I joined the United States Army. I served my country for 4 years and did a combat tour to Afghanistan.
It was during my time of my service to our great country that Network Marketing found me. I had little influence, skills and previous experience. However, I had grit, heart and the ability to be coachable and teachable. I scaled multi millions in sales internationally in the Network Marketing profession. After nearly a decade in the profession I transitioned out and now I work with women entrepreneurs and teach them how to scale their impact, influence and income on and offline.
Now lets talk business, what do you do? Have you always wanted to have your own business- what inspired you to go down this journey?
I help women entrepreneurs scale their impact, influence and income on and off line. I help them tap into their potential and design and live the life they were created for.
I am inspired to choose this journey because I believe this journey chose me. The cards were not always stacked in my favor but I learned to play the hell out of the hand that I was holding. My life is an example for other women that despite your circumstances you can always overcome and if there is a dream in your heart then it’s a dream worth chasing.
Helping women do this work is what wakes me up early and it’s also what keeps me up at night. I am a possibilitarian.
I remember going to bed at night exhausted from working all day. I would think about a life that I couldn’t figure out how to achieve. I desired more time and money options. I would think about all the moments that I was missing with my daughters. I was thinking about how much my family meant to me. I was thinking about all the time I desired to invest into my marriage and with my husband. The issue was that I didn’t have any freedom with my time. And even if I did have freedom with my time I didn’t have financial freedom. I found that freedom through the gateway of Network Marketing. I want women to know that if I could do it even with the odds against me that they can too.
What advice do you have for moms who want to start a business?
Life is full of lessons, what has this quarantine taught you?
I believe that it’s brought awareness to what I already knew and that is that there is no such thing as security. Security is an illusion. More than ever it is important for women to learn to work and create an income online. Personally, I believe for the woman that desires to start something on the side of what they are currently doing is to begin in the Network Marketing profession. I believe this is a person’s greatest option for entry to more options that they may pivot from.
