Before we talk about your business, tell us who you are?
Born and raised in Wisconsin, I met my husband Karl while attending Purdue University. I am a mom two girls: Hadley (7) and Allyson (10). Being a mom to two school-aged girls fills me with equal measures of love and anxiety. I have a 15-year career in collegiate athletics, managing the marketing and game day efforts for UAB Athletics. When I’m not working in sports, watching sports, or coaching my daughters in their sports, you can find me supporting other working mothers as a career coach and strategist.
Now lets talk business, what sets you apart? How did you start on your journey?
It is simple really. I set out to create something that I was not able to find for myself. There are not many women working on sports who are able to manage both a family and the demands of the job. I want the best of both and I want to show others, regardless of industry or other factors, that we are more alike than we are different. We have to advocate for ourselves to make things happen. I started getting involved in my industry as a speaker and mentor. That has evolved into my own programs to help women tackle the challenge of having a great career and a thriving family.
What book or podcast do you recommend?
For mom life, I love The Mom Hour podcast.
For business, I really love mentors like Amber Lilyestrom and Stacey Tuschl who both have great podcasts.
I read a ton so some of my favorites are Atomic Habits, How Women Rise and Never Split the Difference.
