Our readers want to get to know you first, tell us about YOU. What is your story?
I married my high school sweetheart over 10 years ago and we have three curious and imaginative kids. We live for summers camping and playing in whatever river, lake, or even puddle that’s nearby. Sun and sand are our jam. In the winter you’ll find us cozied up watching movies, having dance parties in the kitchen, or doing art projects together. This motherhood gig is a huge part of me, and I love seeing how different motherhood looks for everyone!
Now let’s talk business, what do you do? Have you always wanted to have your own business- what inspired you to go down this journey?
I photograph busy moms who secretly want to embrace the messy beauty of their lives and ditch the cookie-cutter-perfect, every-hair-in-place photos for images that make them feel all the feels of what
motherhood is really like. I also help small businesses growth through great photography and content that converts.
I’ve been an entrepreneur at heart for as long as I can remember. I sold lemonade, homemade perfume and even tried to sell a gerbil going to door-to-door as a kid lol! When my daughter was born, I knew
working full time would not serve our family. When she hit about 6 months, I got really into learning my camera after a crappy photo session at a portrait studio and just after she turned one, my hobby grew into a business.
What advice do you have for moms who want to start a business?
Life is full of lessons, what has motherhood taught you?
Motherhood has taught me patience and flexibility and how to try and sit back and enjoy a moment. Everything is a phase, and everything has its own time. Now that I’m through the little bitty kid stage, I miss it a little. But I’m also enjoying life with kids who are a little more independent now!
