Our readers want to get to know you first, tell us about YOU what is your story?
I am 36 years old and have been married for 14 years. I have 4 wonderful children 2 girls ages 18 and 11, and 2 boys that are eight. I have worked in many fun fields. I spent time repairing campers, selling firearms, running a skeet range, Management at Lowes, working in Mental health most recently. I love people. I mean really love people customer service is my biggest strength which is a blessing and a curse at times. Also, I love heavy metal which is always surprising to everyone because I don’t fit that said mold.
Now let's talk business, what do you do? Have you always wanted to have your own business- what inspired you to go down this journey?
I am the CEO at Metalhead by design. I work with metals and other mixed materials to create one of a kind pieces to embody your elegant and untamed self. I have always wanted to have my own business but lacked the confidence to do it and over the years got lost in working and climbing that latter for others. My Husband and a soul sucking job inspired me to start my journey. My husband is active duty and had been gone a lot. In our 14 years of marriage he has been gone more than half of it. I had been trying to build my own career, but it was at the expanse of not seeing my kids, so I made the switch to a m-f 9-5 job. Going to that job made me realize that I did not want to work for anyone else again. So, when my Husband went overseas again, we made the choice that when he got settled that I would quit my 9 to 5 and go full time with my business.
What advice do you have for moms who want to start a business?

- There are going to be others that do what you do and that is okay. Don't let this bring you down it happens in every type of business.
- Find a good mentor even it if just starts with the right book or podcast.
- Last, consume good things and always reach out for help. you need it more than you think.
Life is full of lessons, what has motherhood taught you?
Motherhood is a back and forth motion for me. I am always missing them being younger but excited to watch them grow. I have never been a future thinking person, but they have taught me to be in the here and now and that it is okay to make crazy plans for the future.
