Our readers want to get to know you first, tell us about YOU what is your story?
I am literally a small town girl who didn’t feel like they fit in with those around her. I am also a twin, so sharing everything with someone, who also happens to be a boy made things hard. I am an introvert who loves to read and just be with my select friends. I did not have a normal high school experience or even college experience. I grew up fast, made my own way and learned from everything. My degree in college was Special Education and I did end up with my A.S. In that as well as Elementary Education. I found a passion in working with people with disabilities. Now you may find it weird that I no longer do that, but I feel like right now I am where I am supposed to be. I was sick a lot off and on for the last 6 years. In this time I fell into my business as being a Virtual Assistant.
Now lets talk business, what do you do? Have you always wanted to have your own business- what inspired you to go down this journey?
As a business owner, I am always explaining what I do to people. I am a Virtual Assistant and to me that is someone who helps Bloggers with their website, social media and the backend of the business. I mainly specialize in Food Bloggers and I am happy in that niche. They are wonderful to work with and it doesn’t help seeing tons of amazing recipes! I started this journey right after being sick with c-diff and just giving birth. I needed to be home and I needed to work. Looked up ways I could use my business courses and work history to my advantage. Found a small job that was just posting to Facebook for $100 a month and it grew from there.
What advice do you have for moms who want to start a business?
Life is full of lessons, what has motherhood taught you?
Motherhood has taught me to really go with the flow and try to make memories. I would not trade my time home with my kids for anything. I am teaching them, seeing them grow and learn, while also knowing they are loved.
