Before we talk about your business, tell us who you are?
My name is Natalie Phillips. I grew up as an island girl in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. I am a wife of one – a Strength and Conditioning coach at Colorado State University, and a mother of two – a son, age 15 and a daughter, age 12. I am an Audiologist, a business owner, an entrepreneur, a connector, a podcast host, and a Facebook Live show host. I grew up a jock, a singer, and loved everything about math and science. I enjoy learning and connecting to people and I love to watch my kids perform and play sports.
TELL US HOW YOU STARTED ON YOUR JOURNEY AND WHAT SETS YOU APART!
I LOVE my journey and wouldn’t change it for the world! I began with a Doctorate degree in Audiology and after about 15 years of working in my industry and field, I knew it wasn’t enough for me. In addition to building my Audiology practice, I became a Global Ambassador for a women’s entrepreneurial group and instead of being torn down by other women, I entered into a world of incredible collaborative and supportive women who encouraged me to act on my ideas, passions, and experience, which further led me to grow my own business and to be content that I am NOT “just” one thing, but can be many things and work with others to create a bigger impact.
Connect4Excellence was soon born and I am able to help people like me who may have an idea but do not know how to take action, connect to their vision, connect to others on a bigger scale through social media, connect at events, and also connect their mindset to give back to others and make philanthropy a part of their business model. I especially
enjoy using technology and social media to reach and engage with people we would never have been able to years ago to learn and move forward in this world together. I host a few Facebook live shows that allow me to network and chat with consumers as well as bring guests on to connect audiences and to learn from each other. My podcast, Connecting A Better World, was an idea to be able to learn about people doing good in this world and to be able to broadcast it to introduce people and spark interest in something they can do or to get involved with what my guest may be doing. I am currently co-authoring a book that will be released this year that talks about the importance of taking action to obtain successful results and transformation through accountability and commitment.
What advice do you have for moms who want to start a business?
just for fun
Did you make a New Year’s resolution? If yes, what is it? If no, why?
YES! I choose a Word of the Year every year in lieu of a New Years resolution. In addition to choosing a word, I create an acronym around that word. My word of the year is FOCUS – Finish One Commitment Until Strong.
