Our readers want to get to know you first, tell us about YOU what is your story?
Hello, my name is Roxana Valdez and I was born in Coahuila, Mexico. My parents are Carlos Morales and Aracely Morales. I am the second child of 4; Carmen Garcia big sis, Melissa Morales little sis and Carlos Josue Morales my baby brother. I came to the United States in 1998 right when I was experiencing puberty so you can imagine what my parents had to deal with when they told me I had to leave everything I knew behind to start a new life at a new school, new culture, new language. It was the end of the world for me but needless to say it turned out to be the best thing my parents have done for me. I married my high school sweetheart Mario Valdez back in 2004. I am the mom of 2 very energetic kids Matthew and Samantha.
Now let’s talk business, what do you do? Have you always wanted to have your own business- what inspired you to go down this journey?
I worked as a Personal Banker for 6 years but recently changed my career. Like any job you have the ups and downs, but it was my desire for Real Estate that made me get my license and embark a new journey as a Real Estate Agent. Watching all those shows on TV about Real Estate agents helping people find their dream house was very interesting to me. I always wanted to be in this industry but always found a reason not to do it until one day last year I said it’s now or never.
What advice do you have for moms who want to start a business?
Life is full of lessons, what has motherhood taught you?
I want to say patience but I’m still mastering it 🙂 and I have to say being a kind and genuine person every single day because I know I have four little eyes watching my every move. Love like I never thought I could love someone and the most important of all getting close to God, he is my rock and my teacher when it comes to my kids. Lastly, making mistakes is ok, yes we are moms but we are still humans.
