Our readers want to get to know you first, tell us about YOU what is your story?
My name is Sadaf and I am a citizen of Canada. I migrated to Canada in 2004 leaving behind a career with UNICEF to have a good life for my kids.
I was working as a clinical psychologist and when I came to Canada I was living in Montreal and to be serving as a psychologist I needed to be fluently bilingual which I was not so I changed my career paths and did whatever I could to keep my family fed and safe. I then got my degree in HR and moved to Alberta. I was making ends meet but my life wasn’t full filled I didn’t want to be tied to a 9-5 as I have 4 kids and wanted to be an active part in their life. I was tired of saying “no” to my kids because I always strapped for cash… one day literally while scrolling on Facebook I saw a post from a mom like me who was living the life I wanted to live and from there my life took a new turn. I joined a network marketing company and fast forward to today I am financially free and live life on my own terms.
Now lets talk business, what do you do? Have you always wanted to have your own business- what inspired you to go down this journey?
I am a social media coach/ brand influencer. I come from a family of doctors and lawyers so business was not something that ran in our family. I would say that I knew what I wanted out of life I couldn’t get from a job. So I took it on with a huge support from my husband.
What advice do you have for moms who want to start a business?
Life is full of lessons, what has the quarantine taught you?
One thing that it has taught me is to never take anything life gives you for granted. The freedom we take so much for granted was taken away and I regretted not being able to enjoy and appreciate it while we had it. Also that we live in fast moving world and this virus taught us to slow down.
