My Morning Routine

I wake up at 4:30 in the morning, yes I do. It gives me 1.5 to 2 hours of ME time before our morning begins. Yes, I also do this on the weekend sometimes I sleep in until 6 on the weekend but not very often.

I wake up and I read for at least an hour. I believe reading is essential to our growth and I am in a season in my life right now where growing and taking in all this knowledge has helped me feel alive again. I enjoy reading books based on personal growth. Then, I write my gratitude, 10 things every single day that I am grateful for. This practice has changed my life, I promise, it will change yours it has helped me turn a bad day into a good, it has helped me remember that I have many things to be grateful for every single day even when I feel like screaming and running away and yes I have those days. Then, I pay bills, work on the shop stuff or any paperwork that I need to get done. I used to wake up and workout but I still nurse and I swear my baby knows when I am in that basement trying to workout.

My ideal morning would be working out for 30 minutes, reading for an hour and practicing my gratitude. Summer break is around the corner and I plan on attempting this again.

I believe having a morning routine helps you become clear on your vision for your day, of course it does not always go as planned, but it does help you create new healthy habits. I do not allow myself to get on social media or check my email until I have practiced my gratitude and read. I also charge my phone outside of my room so that I have to get up to turn off my alarm. I currently have the song CHAMPION by Carrie Underwood as my alarm clock, it is my 2018 theme song with a song like that who can stay in bed?
